I’m getting ready to make some big changes to the way I do business, and I think we’ll all be happier for it!

Since I started this business back in 2009, I’ve proudly offered affordable prints to my customers. Two things about it have been really important to me: 1.) I have a calibrated screen and a professional printer I use to get the prints to match the edits I make. We’ve all been in the position where we are super excited to print a photo, only to be disappointed when we pick it up because it looks nothing like what we saw at home on our computer monitor. I have the tools to make that so it doesn’t happen. 2.) Offering truly affordable print products to my customers has been a top priority. I didn’t want to be that photographer who charges a somewhat reasonable “sitting fee”, only to turn around and charge $50 for a 4×6. It’s disappointing to you, the client, and it would make me feel lousy as a business owner.

However, as times change, clients’ wants and needs evolve, and my needs as a business owner change as well. And so the time has come that I am going to now include high resolution image files in every photo package! That means no more proofs, no more waiting for your order to get delivered, no more having to worry that you might want to get more prints made two years from now and have to contact me and go through the whole process that would entail. It means that you get the files delivered to you for you to store where you want. It means you can get as many prints made as you want. It means you can drop your favorite family photo into that adorable Christmas card template you found online and get 1000s made (you probably have that many friends and family, am I right?). It means you get all the images I edit; you don’t have to pick a few from a lot. It means it will be an all-around easier process for both you and me.

Because I still care about how your prints look, I’m going to post some tips on how to get the best results with your images (I’ll also include those same tips when I deliver your images to you. I am also going to show you why it matters where you get your prints made. Sure, 10¢ prints sound great, but trust me, they are never, ever, ever a good a idea. Spending an extra few cents is definitely worth it. You never regret quality. So with they “why”s, I’ll include some “where”s. There are a lot of really great printers out there that anyone can use (lots are for pros only)!
